Is Apply Intentionally Killing the Macbook Pro 13 Inch Line? I would say yes, and I don't blame them, it makes a lot of sense. I think a lot of people want the form factor of a 13", but were okay with having it a little thicker. But notice that the latest Macbook Air (13 inch) line has a higher resolution screen then the same size screen on the Macbook Pro? No doubt in my mind that it was intentional - it forces me to consider the Air or 15" Pro as my only options..
And they've succeeded! I've decided to go with the Air over the Pro. It may cost more because of its form factor, but if you start using a laptop that weights almost nothing, you'll realize what the big fuss is about. I was definitely not a believer - I lugged around my 2007 15" Macbook Pro backpacking Europe for 6 months! Anyone who complains is a wuss! But right after it broke I borrowed my bosses spare Macbook Air, and wow was it ever convenient. The 15" Pro may have just came out with a beast of a system recently, but for what I need it for, does it really matter? I use it for browsing, casual gaming, looking at photos with the OCCASIONAL photoshop, and for coding. But the extent of my code is generally web or application, nothing mathematically heavy (at least at the moment). I'm really happy with my choice of the Air, I do like to do a lot of travelling, this thing will be perfect. Will be picking it up tomorrow, buying the top configuration used for $1600 CAD, saving me about $400. Will post pics =D
Whoa, totally went off topic. Is Apple killing the 13" Pro? Yes. Opinions?
